Customers say
Customers find the nail grinder super quiet and easy to use, particularly with older dogs, and appreciate its effectiveness, with one customer noting it worked well on a lab/golden retriever cross. The grinder performs better for small dogs, though some mention it’s not suitable for large ones, and while customers like the 2-speed feature, they note it takes three times as long per nail. The quality and charging ability receive negative feedback, with customers reporting the product falls apart and stops charging after about 6 months of use.

Comparison between various nail grinders
I am going to attempt to offer a comparison of the various dog nail grinders since we have purchased several over the years.First of all, The video makes it sound louder than it is in real life. This thing is SO QUIET and has NO vibration and is incredibly lightweight!I was extremely skeptical because we have been through so many nail grinders for our dogs including an actual Dremel, a Pedipaw, and the Oster brand. Up until now, the Oster was our favorite but the protective cover makes it extremely hard to get your dogs nails into the openings. There are 3 openings on the cover but none of them are the right size AND the cover is so far away from the grinding wheel that you really have to separate and shove the dogs toes down into the holes. If you take the cover off, it can grab hair around the spinning head and yank it out, which is also the danger with the Dremel. They are also bulky and hard to hold. You also have to hold the tool facing one direction otherwise the nail jumps and catches on the spinning wheel making it painful to the dogs. So, it is fine when you’re doing one side of their feet but it’s so hard to try to hold the tool facing one direction under their belly in order to get the other side of their feet. The spinning head also overheat the dogs nail really fast, which creates pain and heat quickly. You have to bounce it on and off so that the nail doesn’t get too hot. This machine is very lightweight! VERY quiet, and has almost no vibration. We have 4 dogs. 2 are small Yorkies and 2 are large rough collies. We needed something that could handle both. The protective cover on this machine is open enough to accommodate both sizes of nails with an opening on top of the spinner for the small dogs nails also without having to hold their toes so far apart and shoving the nail down through a hole like the other machines. The cover is very close to the grinding wheel so you don’t have to separate the toes. Taking off the protective cover is not safe with Yorkies that have long hair. If it bounces and grabs any hair, it WILL rip it out with the other machines. So this one is nice because the cover can be on but it is closely set to the spinner that you can reach very tiny nails into it. The cover is removable also, but it isn’t necessary to remove it in order to reach the nails. The opening on the top, flat side of the spinner is designed to fit small dogs nails and hold them in place. It works extremely well and it makes it so that you can hold the machine facing directly towards the nails so you don’t have to worry about the spinner spinning in the wrong direction and you don’t have to hold it strangely and uncomfortably in one direction under the belly to reach the feet on their left sides. My little dogs would rather pull their legs out of socket than get their nails trimmed so it’s always been a huge fight. But this machine is very fast, very quiet, with almost no vibration at all. It is smooth as silk and very, very fast. You don’t have to push much and it is so fast that you don’t get the heat built up from friction like we did with the other grinders. The dogs allowed us to grind their nails with very little argument. The opening on the protective cover on the side of the grinding wheel is large enough to do our big dogs nails. You can spin the cover around so that the opening is in a place that makes the grinder easy to hold. It also made quick work of grinding their nails as well. With the larger dogs without long hair, the cover can be removed also. The grinding wheel ground down the nails on both large and small dogs very quickly, smoothly, and without excessive friction heat. Since it is quiet with very little vibration, the noise doesn’t have them all running to hide before we even began. They all tolerated it very well. It didn’t create vibration in their feet so they were much less nervous and frightened. One final feature that I didn’t expect to matter at all is the light. I didn’t think that the light would do anything but it actually shines through the nail and helps you see where the quick is, which is a major benefit and more valuable than just having the area lightened up.Grinding our dogs nails has always been a huge fight and miserable for the dogs but this makes the job much more comfortable, quiet, and quick. Having the openings in the protective cover so close to the grinding wheel, having it rotate to help you get a good angle no matter where you are holding your dog, the quickness and smooth grinding, the light weight of the whole machine, and the light make this worth the extra $10.I’m SO impressed and SOOOO HAPPY and so are my dogs! Excellent machine so far. There are extra soft abs extra hard grinding wheels available for replacement which isn’t necessary but I think I will buy them to make the job even faster. Absolutely excellent product that I’m very glad I found! I would highly recommend it!

It works as advertised!
I have never written a review right after getting an order. I have a dog that is so afraid of getting her nails cut it causes me and her great anxiety to say the least. I received this today gave it a charge and proceeded to use it on my dog. Was amazing. My son feed her treats while I did the grinding, and she actually relaxed. I cannot say enough good things about this product. It is everything they advertise and more. Live changing in nail trimming. I highly recommend this to anyone whose pet hates nail trimming as much as mine.

TAKE THE SCARE OUT OF PET CARE
Less than a month ago I got rescued. She’s a mid size two year old hound. The things that rescued pets survive are heart wrenching. Most are either abandoned or lost or just dealt a bad hand. Every day is a challenge to care for my beloved pooch. She’s a little nervous around noisy tools so I wasn’t sure this grinder would be acceptable to her. As directed by the manufacturer, we’ve been “pretending” for a while so that she might get accustomed to the “feel” of the tool. The tool is surprisingly quiet and nearly vibration free. So far so good. The tool charged quickly and hasn’t needed to be recharged yet. The ergonomic design makes for ease in control. The light is great for focusing on each individual nail. The shape and design of the grinder head is ideal for a good cut. Using a hand tool has a big risk of cutting too short and having an uncontrolled bleed. I am confident using this tool that I will not harm my pup and feel safe in using it.TAKE THE SCARE OUT OF PET CARE

Super Quiet nail grinder for dogs (not familiar with cats)
After being a dedicated breeder of a French not well known breed for over 25 years, this grinding nail trimmer was one I never had the option of when I owned a pack of dogs!! I always use either an electric or rechargeable Dremel which I still have. The Dremel is very noisy and dogs hate it! This trimmer is so so quiet that I could not even believe it! My three dogs now appreciate it! I also used it to file down my own nails but don’t recommend that to anyone that is not really familiar with a tool like this!! I absolutely am thrilled with the purchase!

Disappointed about the grinding stone and battery
I agree with the other reviews. This product is amazingly quiet and smooth. They definitely deserve high marks for that. But what led me to not give 5 stars were two things. The first was what I learned about the grinding stone only after I made my purchase. I have just received and started to use my unit, but I have been reading comments that these wheels wear out rather quickly, and are rather expensive to replace. I have been a machinist in a welding/machine shop since the 80’s. We use diamond tools all the time on HARDENED METALS. Now I can assure you, animal claws are NOWHERE NEAR hardened metal! It might cost more for the initial product, but they could manufacture wheels that would last for YEARS, if not forever, if they chose to. The other thing that I don’t really like is the non-replaceable battery. This is just another product that is designed to be eventually thrown away and replaced once the life of the battery expires.

We have 2 large dogs that hate having their toe nails cut. The younger dog picked up on his sister’s anxiety and grew fearful of us touching his feet after seeing us trying to cut Chanelles nails, to the extent that we had to sedate him to go to the vet for a check up and nail cut. This grinder is super quiet and Billy actually ended up going to sleep whilst I did his Mani pedi! Even Chanelle ended up relaxing whilst I finished her nails. If you are looking for a great nail grinder that is super quiet, has good lighting, long rechargeable battery and is easy to use I highly recommend the luckytail grinder. 10/10No more wrestling with 35+ kg dogs 🤗

Positives: Beautiful Packaging, unit fits good in the hand, protective cover over the grinding stone/bit & comes with a charging cable.Cons: No Charger included, Old outdated Charging port option, charging port in an awkward position/location, don’t include different stone grit options (only included pre-assembled stone bit), no directions how to change stone/bit. No charger or charging stand holder option (either table/wall mounted). My opinion, being that it’s advertised as a Premium Tool, one would expect up-to-date technology/hardware, an opportunity to try optional stones being included with purchase. Update to follow, once unit has fully charged.UPDATE!! “AMAZING” performance!Extremely quiet! Zero vibration!Still stand firm on CONS mentioned previously.Adding ONE Additional CON!Although, the shape of this power tool is ergonomically designed for comfort, it lacks in grip. I have had to modify mine with silicone strips/stickers. It kept shooting out of my hand, like a 3 year old learning to eat a banana! 😂I would like the seller/manufacturer contact me & justify not offering/ including optional grinding bits, & instructions how to change them.I “DO RECOMMEND” THIS TOOL FOR “EVERYONE’S” FUR BABY/BUDDY!THEY WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT!

I like this unit. It is lightweight, quiet, and feels very well balanced & comfortable to hold. The led light is a nice addition, to help me see what I’m doing. The battery holds a charge well, and the box is sturdy & safe for storage. But — I’m using it instead of clippers and it takes a LONG time to grind through my 18lb Cavalier’s nails. He is still getting used to it, so we only do one or two feet at a time. It takes maybe 30-45 seconds of grinding on each nail, which may not sound like much, but the rotation creates friction so you have to keep pausing every few seconds to let the nail cool down. We are getting better, and can do one foot in about 10-12 min now. There’s no way I would use this to trim a larger dog’s nails, it would take way too long- I’d go with a higher powered Dremel. But for grinding a small dog’s nails in lieu of clipping, or for smoothing a larger dog’s nails AFTER clipping, to smooth rough edges, this would probably work well.
