Works good, wish I had got them sooner.
As many of the other reviews noted, these are easy to set up once you are aware of a few things which are noted below. I purchased both the small round indoor outlets and the larger outdoor outlets, so these hints apply to both items. The steps outlined in the instructions are actually pretty good but awareness of these hints will make it go much faster for you. 1- I configured my devices one at a time at the same outlet using the Smart Life app on my phone via the BLE mode. The first device is the most time consuming as you need to create a Smart Life account, identify your WIFI and put in your WIFI password. Once that is done, you don’t need to do it again for subsequent devices, so it goes pretty fast after that. 2- As noted in the instructions, just plugging the device into an outlet will put the device into its pairing mode and it will appear in the app as “Smart plug x” where x = the number of devices added to the app. I did have one device that didn’t appear after plugging it in, so pressing and holding the button on the device for 5 seconds put it into the pairing mode and it connected successfully. 3- As each device is detected, you should edit the name of the device from “Smart plug x” to a meaningful description e.g “Smart plug kitchen”. I also wrote the description on the device with a sharpie as several of the devices will be used with Christmas lights and will be stored away in the off season. 4- I just wanted mine to power on and off as specific times. To do this, tap on “timer” for the device in the app and then tap on “add schedule”. The thing to remember is that each schedule added only does one function (on or off), so if you want it to power on at a specific time, that’s one schedule and if you want it to power off at a specific time, that’s another schedule. The schedules just pile up in the order that you add them for the device and execute based on the time and the function (on or off) that you choose. Note that the indoor and outdoor devices behave a little differently from each other in the app because the outdoor devices have 2 individually configurable outlets, so it is a little more complicated but pretty obvious. You can also manually power the devices on and off via the app even with schedules in place.

Absolutely amazing
There’s so many amazing things I could say about these outlets but the one thing I will say is that they connect a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi so if you have 5G, they won’t connect, but I have a 5G hotspot that actually allows you to make another connection so I have a 5G and a 2.4 Both from my modem But after you figure out connectivity, these things will never drop you can control them from your phone and do a number of amazing things like turning on humidifiers dehumidifiers lights fans, anything and all links to a great smart app that has other products I have thermostats, smart cameras everything all under one app you can label and name things there’s Timers it’s actually so impressive. I feel old at 45 with the technology that this thing has I’ve used a lot of different Wi-Fi connected devices that always drop connectivity and when you come back home, you have to reconnect the device anything connected to this device in any of the products that are associated with it never lose connectivity ever.

Easy Plugs
These plugs worked well. It took a little playing before I could tell the difference between a fast blink and a slow on, but I got it pretty quickly and easily configured the first one. The other three were easy. I was easy connecting them to Alexa. I was leery buying them, because my old Broad Link plugs were such a pain. With those Broad Links, they would freak out and I’d have to reattached them to the Wifi fairly often and spend several minutes goofing with my phone to get them going again. I’ve used the EightTree plug for over a month now and so far, so good…

Smart Plugs are a time/money/effort saver!
How did I manage before Smart Plugs? Make my life easier. Works well with ALEXA. Especially great for lamps where plugs are hard or impossible to use.

Easy to set up. Instructions are easy to follow. Works as advertised but one died after only a few weeks of use.3 others are still running after a year.Edit. Seller offered a Full refund for the deffective unit. Great Customer Service.

Firstly, I have purchased these more than once. They are easy to install and attach to google home.I use them to power on lighting throughout the house including the side lamps in our bedroom. This year I formatted a plug to turn on the Christmas tree. My grandchildren argue over which of them gets to turn on the Christmas tree.great fun..Of course you can control them over the internet which is a safety feature..if your away from home..However, I have had to replace the older plugs as they seem to lose the ability to communicate with our home network. I would guess they last about 3 years so…..I keep spares on hand.Great product
